In Australia, the law stipulates you must be at least 18 years old in order to get a tattoo. We will not tattoo anyone under 18 even with parental permission.

The healing process will vary from person to person. As a general guide, your tattoo should be fully healed within approximately 3-4 weeks depending on the size and detail of the tattoo.

During this time, your tattoo will go flakey and will look like it is peeling, this is perfectly normal and is part of the healing process, please ensure you continue to apply healing cream during this process.

At Designer Ink we recommend Dr Pickles, Hustle Butter and Bepanthen First Aid Cream.

Depends on a person pain threshold and where the tattoo is being placed, some people feel pain more than the others, it’s more of a mild discomfort as opposed to an excruciating pain.

Please ensure you have eaten and the area being tattooed is clean.

Yes, a tattoo can stretch or distort with the skin.

Your safety will always be a top priority. We strictly observe the Victorian health regulations and undergo an annual health inspection conducted by Knox Council.

After getting your tattoo our artist will clean the area, cover it with Bepanthen or Dr. Pickles healing cream and then wrap the area in Gladwrap.

Leave the Gladwrap on your new tattoo for at least 2-3 hours, then remove the Gladwrap and wash the area with warm soapy water, let the tattoo breathe for 20-minutes then reapply some healing cream and wrap the tattoo in Gladwrap for a further 24-hours.

Apply healing cream 2 – 4 times per day for two-weeks during the healing process.

Avoid getting direct sunlight on your new tattoo and definitely no swimming or spas while your tattoo is healing.

Please note: some redness, swelling and brusing are common and are no cause for concern, however if you are concerned or experience any issues with your new tattoo please contact us at the studio for advice.

We are located at Unit 2, 426 Burwood Highway Wantirna South Victoria.
